BArch (Hons)

MHSc (Psychotherapy, Hons)

I will be on leave from 24th Dec – 8th January. If you wanted to book a time for January please email me, as I will be checking my inbox over the holidays. Thanks.

Statement of Purpose

I offer psychotherapy sessions in person and by video and have over twenty years experience working in private practice, community settings and the public health system.

It’s important you feel comfortable with your therapist so my approach is confidential, friendly and non-judgmental.

After creating a good connection, some of the key aspects to recovery are; improving self awareness, developing better cognitive, behavioural & mindfulness skills, and then working on self acceptance and the ability to be kinder to yourself. By increasing all these abilities, people typically recover from their issues and go on to live fulfilling lives.

I believe with the right therapy the vast majority of people can overcome or successfully manage the issues in their lives and it is a real privilege to help people through these difficult times.

Blair’s specialties:

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Experience:

I have over twenty years experience working in private practice, public and community mental health, including working for ADHB, WDHB, The Mensana Clinic and Youthline.

Approaches and modalities

I use a range of modern, proven approaches and will use the approach that is best suited to the specific issue or individual. These include Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems and Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT).
